Have you tried acai yet? You should. It’s delicious. Or I should say, “they’re delicious”.
These dark purple berries are filled with healthy antioxidants, amino acids, and essential fatty acids. For these benefits, as well as the delicious, dark chocolate-like taste, acai berries have become one of the hottest super foods.
Acai berries are native to the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. Indigenous tribes have used them to treat ailments and support energy for thousands of years. They’ve nick-named acai as “beauty berries” for their many compounds that make the body look and feel better, from the inside out. They’re full of antioxidants, amino acids and omega fatty acids that all help slow the body’s aging processes, boost immunity, boost metabolic function and remove destructive disease-causing free radicals. The anthocyanins (powerful antioxidants that fight aging and protect against free radicals) in acai berries are common in red and purple-colored fruits and veggies, but acai has more than any other food.
Full of vitamins and minerals, acai berries also contain a surprising amount of protein, while also being very low in sugar, which makes them a great addition to your morning routine.

- 1 frozen smoothie pack of unsweetened acai
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt or cottage cheese
- 1 tbsp. raw cacao (optional for added chocolaty-taste)
- stevia to taste
- 1 tbsp. shredded coconut
- 1 tbsp. bee pollen
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix. Energize for the day!
- You can add any berries, sliced banana, granola, nuts, or other toppings to this smoothie too.
